Women's Tennis Falls To Notre Dame In BIG EAST Title Match, 4-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The No. 2-seeded University of Miami women’s tennis team fell 4-1 to top-seeded Notre Dame in the BIG EAST Championship match Sunday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

No. 39-ranked Miami, the defending BIG EAST Champions, fall to 15-8 on the season while No. 7-ranked Notre Dame improve to 23-4 overall.

The Fighting Irish jumped out early taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.

Junior Marcy Hora defeated Caylan Leslie 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, but Notre Dame proved too much for the Hurricanes taking wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles for the win.

Miami has won six BIG EAST Championship titles in the last nine years.
