Clarke Finishes Second At Texas Relays

Austin, TX (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami All-American Kareen Clarke (Lithonic, GA) finished second in the triple jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 13.28 meters (43-07.25) to highlight the final day of competition at the 75th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, TX.
Clarke, ranked second in the nation in the event, was edge out by a mere one-quarter of an inch by LSU’s Nicole Toney. Toney, the 2002 NCAA Indoor Champion in the triple jump, finished first with a jump of 13.29 meters (43-07.25).
The Hurricanes had three relay teams in action on Saturday. The 4×200-meter relay finished fifth in a time of 1:37.76, while the 4×100-meter relay took seventh with a time of 45.50. The 4×400-meter relay finished eighth with a time of 3:44.02.
Miami returns to action on Saturday, April 13 when it hosts the 16th Annual Miami Gatorade Track and Field Classic at Cobb Stadium for Soccer, Track and Field in Coral Gables, FL.
