UM To Face Aggies

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The No. 42-ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team will face its toughest competition of the season Sunday at 11 a.m. when it welcomes the No. 10-ranked Texas A&M Aggies to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

After being ranked No. 12 in the preseason and a 3-0 start, the Aggies have lost two straight, one to rival Texas and the other to Florida.

The 2-0 Hurricanes feature No. 9 ranked player Todd Widom (Coral Springs, Fla./J.P. Taravella HS). Widom is 2-0 on the season with wins over Florida Atlantic’s David Demers and North Carolina State’s R.J. Murray.

Texas A&M boasts the highly touted doubles pairing of Lester Cook and Ante Matejevic, which is ranked No. 5 in the nation.

UM’s wins this season include a 7-0 victory over Florida Atlantic and a 6-1 win over North Carolina State.
