No. 16 Hurricanes Face No. 12 UCLA

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 16-ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team will put its five-match winning streak on the line, traveling to face No. 12 UCLA Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. EST in Los Angeles, Calif.

The Hurricanes enter the match 9-1 overall, while the Bruins are 9-5 on the season.

Miami is 2-5 all-time against UCLA. The Hurricanes won the last meeting with the Bruins 4-3 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center during the 2001 season.

The match will bring two former Bruins back to the LATC, as head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews was a Bruin letterman from 1992-96 and junior Megan Bradley played her freshman season at UCLA in 2002.

Both Yaroshuk-Tews and Bradley earned All-American status at UCLA.

The match will feature four ranked players, No. 9 Megan Bradley (Columbia, Mo.) for Miami and No. 28 Jackie Carleton, No. 40 Daniela Bercek and No. 77 Alex McGoodwin for UCLA.

Fisher and Carleton are ranked No. 8 in doubles action, while Bradley and Melissa Applebaum (Coral Gables, Fla.) are ranked No. 44.
