Dolores Takes Third In Long Jump

Piscataway, N.J. (hurricanesports.com) – Senior Aaron Dolores (Mill Valley, Calif.) finished third in the long jump with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 7.41 meters (24-03.75) to lead the University of Miami Saturday at the BIG EAST Track and Field Championships in Piscataway, N.J.
Dolores was one of two Hurricanes to score in long jump. Freshman Devin Hester (Riviera Beach, Fla.) finished seventh with a jump of 7.12 meters (23-04.50).
Hester was one of five Hurricanes to qualify for Sunday’s 100-meter final. Hester posted a time of 10.42 seconds, the fastest time of the qualifying round. Other UM runners qualifying included sophomore Darnell Jenkins (Miami Central), junior Tanard Davis (Miami Southridge), sophomore Travarous Bain (Miami Northwestern) and sophomore Akieem Jolla (New Orleans, La.).
Senior Kenny Frank (Pomona, N.Y.) reached the final of the 110-meter hurdles with a preliminary time of 14.76 seconds.
In the 10,000-meter run, senior Matt Mulvaney (South Hadley, Mass.) finished ninth with a time of 32:08.24.
As a team the Hurricanes are currently in 10th place with eight point.
