Josh Cohen Earns ACC All-Conference Accolades

GREENSBORO, N.C.Josh Cohen of the University of Miami men’s tennis team was named to the 2005 ACC All-Conference Team as announced today by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Playing in their inaugural season as members of the ACC, Cohen, a sophomore native from Weston, Fla., led the Hurricanes with a 6-4 mark in conference play this season and went 13-7 overall this spring with an 11-5 record at the No. 1 position.

Cohen – who is currently ranked 60th nationally in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association – closed out the 2005 regular season with a pair of victories over higher ranked opponents, downing then-No. 3 Ludovic Walter of Duke and 32nd-ranked Mat Cloer of Florida State.

Cohen and the Hurricanes will take on fellow ACC-newcomers, Virginia Tech Thursday at 9 a.m. in the opening round match of the 2005 ACC Men’s Tennis Championships in Cary, N.C.
