This marks Miami’s 12th consecutive Regional Championship. The Hurricanes have never lost a NCAA Regional under head coach Jim Morris. Miami will advance to their seventh Super Regional. Danny Figueroa recorded two steals on the evening giving him a teamleading 25 on the season. Figueroa was 5 for 5 on steal attempts during the regional. Paco Figueroa recorded his 23rd steal of the season in the second inning and his 24th in the fourth Danny Valencia recorded his 15th double of the season in the first inning. Miami scored two runs in the first inning marking the 40th time this season the Hurricanes have recorded a run in their opening at-bat. Walter Diaz recorded his seventh steal of the season in the second inning. Jon Jay recorded his team-leading 17th double of the season in the second inning. Brandon Camardese has not won a game since May 7th, when he pitched six innings in a 15-2 victory over Jacksonville. The Figueroa brothers are 7-for<-7 in=”” stolen=”” bases=”” this=”” regional.=””>-7> Brendan Katin hit his 14th double of the season in the fifth inning. Ryan Braun’s two-run homer in the sixth inning was his 18th of the year that placed him in a threeway tie for ninth, with Danny Buxbaum and Rudy Gomez. Braun also moved to fourth in the career homeruns list with 45 homeruns. Eddie Gonzalez’ homerun in the seventh inning was his eighth of the season. Danny Figueroa hit his 11th double of the season in the sixth. Ryan Braun hit his second triple of the season in the eighth inning. Andrew Lane set a career-high when he pitched four innings in relief. He also tied a career-high with three strikeouts in the game. Brendan Katin hit a career-high four hits in the game.

MISSISSIPPI STATE

Jeff Butts’ two-run double in the bottom of the fourth was his 12th of the season. Brad Corley hit his 20th double of the year in bottom of the ninth inning.
