Greggs Named ACC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week

(hurricanesports.com) – Senior All-American Charlette Greggs was named the ACC performer of the week in women’s track and field.  Greggs was honored as a result of her three first place performances in the Diet Pepsi Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. last weekend.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

 

Greggs won the women’s 200m crossing the finish line in a time of 23.21, the fastest time recorded in the ACC and second fastest in the NCAA.  The Miami, Fla., product wrapped up the weekend running the anchor leg for the Hurricanes on the winning 4x100m relay and the third leg on the 4x400m relay teams. 

 

Miami posted a time of 44.13 in the 4x100m relay, the fastest time registered in the league and second fastest in the nation.  The Hurricanes also hold the top mark in the ACC in the 4x400m relay running a time of 3:34.63.  All three performances met NCAA Regional qualifying standards. 

 

The honor is the second for the Hurricanes this outdoor season and the third including the indoor season.
