Lomacki Ends Amazing Run at the USTA/ITA
ATHENS, Ga. – University of Miami freshman Piotr Lomacki ended his stellar run in a three set match at the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships today hosted by the University of Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Lomacki, in his second quarterfinals of the season, entered the day as the No. 9-16 seed and faced the No. 9-16 seed Maxx Lipman from Florida, who is also ranked No. 100 nationally. Lomacki won the first set in dominant fashion, but then was overpowered in the second and third as Lipman imposed his style ending the match, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. This match marked Lomacki’s second-straight three set match, as yesterday he defeated No. 50 Ben Wagland from Georgia 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-3.
His teammate, senior Henrique Tsukamoto, also partook in quarterfinals action in the singles consolation draw. He fell to Chris Barrus from UCF by walkover.
