Lomacki Splits a Pair of Matches at ITA

TULSA, Okla. – University of Miami sophomore Piotr Łomacki split a pair of matches Saturday in the main draw consolation bracket of the 2015 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships.Łomacki had a tough two-tiebreaker, three-set, Round of 16 match against Chase Perez-Blanco of Florida. Łomacki took the first set that went to a tiebreak, then the Gator took the second set, but the native of Warsaw, Poland, came up big in the final set to win another tiebreaker and the match, 7-6(3), 3-6, 7-6(6).  In the Round of 8, Łomacki faced Mikael Torpegaard of Ohio State, who was seeded in the 5-8 group. With a 6-4, 6-2 loss, Łomacki ended his run at the event. Miami tennis will be back in action Oct. 30 – Nov. 1, when the Canes travel to Ft. Myers for the FGCU Invitational.
