Lachowecki Named to All-ACC Academic Team
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior forward Gracie Lachowecki has continued to add to her accolades for one of the finest seasons in University of Miami soccer history. The Evansville, Ind., native was announced Tuesday as a member of the 2015 All-ACC Academic Women’s Soccer Team.
A Second Team All-ACC selection, Lachowecki was the lone player in the conference to win back-to-back ACC Offensive Player of the Week awards this past season. A nursing major with a 3.71 GPA, Lachowecki has also been quite successful off the field as a Hurricane.
“We are so proud of Gracie,” Miami head coach Mary-Frances Monroe said. “Not only has she excelled on the field, earning a spot on the All-ACC Team, she excels in the classroom. Gracie has worked very hard in a very demanding major at Miami to be near the top of her class.”
Lachowecki tallied 12 goals in 2015, a mark that led the Hurricanes and ranked third in the ACC. Her 25 points also paced Miami while placing her fifth in the conference. In conference play, Lachowecki led the ACC in goals (nine) and goals per game (1.00), while tying for first in points (18) and ranking second in points per game (2.00).
In Division I as a whole, Lachowecki ranked No. 13 in goals per game (0.80) and No. 38 in total goals. She logged two hat tricks on the season, including a four-goal performance on the road at Boston College. Lachowecki was one of only three players in a Power Five conference to tally a four-goal outing in 2015.
Lachowecki’s teammates voted her as the Hurricanes’ 2015 Offensive MVP for her stellar performance throughout the season.
Academically, Lachowecki is a two-time ACC Honor Roll selection. She has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (minimum 3.20 GPA) and the Dean’s List (3.50) in all five of her semesters at Miami, and has once garnered Provost’s Honor Roll (3.75) distinction.
