Flashback: Canes vs. Cavs at 2011 ACC Tournament

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – With No. 11 Miami (25-6, 13-5 ACC) taking on fourth-ranked Virginia (25-6, 13-5 ACC) in the ACC Tournament semifinals tonight, it is an ideal opportunity to look back on the last time the teams met in the postseason.

Trailing by 10 with 36 seconds left, the Hurricanes mounted one of the most amazing comebacks in ACC history. With a win probability that KenPom.com listed as about 0.01 percent, Miami went on a 10-0 run in under 25 seconds to tie the game and eventually won in overtime, 69-62.

Here is how it went down . . . 

Durand Scott knocks down a 3-pointer to start the comeback and the Hurricanes begin to have some life.

Virginia misses a pair of free throws and then, whoa boy, this is getting interesting! Malcolm Grant with a triple to make it a four-point game.

The Canes force a turnover on the inbounds pass and immediately get the ball back.

Julian Gamble with a monster two-handed jam and just…like…THAT…it’s a one-possession game.

Durand. Scott. Steal. Bucket. Tied up.

Gamble ALMOST wins it for the Canes in regulation. To overtime we go.

Garrius Adams with the long range shot and Miami’s lead is four with under two minutes to play.

Reggie Johnson seals the deal for the Canes and the miraculous comeback is complete.

The final 40 seconds of regulation were ALL Miami.
