Canes Take On Boston College and Notre Dame

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team is set for two contests on the road. On Friday March 18 Miami will take on Boston College at 5 p.m. and No. 51 Notre Dame on Sunday March 20 at 12 p.m.

The Canes come off of a loss against No. 1 North Carolina at home. Miami came up short against the Tar Heels dropping the match 6-1. The match held a notable doubles win for Nile Clark and Piotr Lomacki as the duo defeated the No. 30 ranked pair of Brayden Schnur and Jack Murray out of UNC. The Hurricanes look to improve their record on the road after playing the last nine matches at home.  

Miami (6-7, 1-2 ACC) hold an all-time record of 10-1 against Boston College. That mark includes a 5-0 record on the road. Boston College holds a spring record of 3-8, and 0-3 for ACC matches. Boston College recently fell to the 39th-ranked Virginia Tech men’s tennis team, 7-0.

After their match-up against the Eagles, Miami will head to Notre Dame Indiana to take on the 51st-ranked Fighting Irish. The Canes edge out Notre Dame with a 16-10 overall series mark. Notre Dame is 8-8 for their spring campaign and 2-2 in conference play. Heading into Sunday’s match, the Fighting Irish come off of a 7-0 loss against No. 10 Wake Forest.

Notre Dame sees one ranked singles player with Quentin Monaghan checking in at No. 42. The doubles pair of Alex Lawson and Monaghan comes in at No. 14. The Canes still hold on to a top-30 singles player with Lomacki ranked at No. 28.
