MIAMI HOSTING BIG GREEN AT THE LIGHT
• The No. 17 Miami Hurricanes will host their final nonconference series of the spring before ACC play beginning Friday, March 3 against Dartmouth. First pitch for Game 1 is slated for 7 p.m. from Mark Light Field on ACC Network Extra and WVUM 90.5.
• The two teams have not met since 2010, when Dartmouth traveled to south Florida for the NCAA Coral Gables Regional. Miami beat the Big Green 12-8 in its first game of that NCAA postseason.
• Miami carries a 3-1 all-time series lead, including a regular season series victory at Mark Light Field in 2000 (March 24-26), when the Hurricanes won two of three games.
• Miami junior righthander Jesse Lepore (1-1, 0.75 ERA) will oppose Dartmouth senior Beau Sulser (1-0, 0.00 ERA) in the series opener.
LAST TIME OUT: CANES RALLY FOR 5-2 WIN AT FAU
• Miami captured a come-from-behind 5-2 victory on Wed., March 1 in its first of three games against nearby FAU in Boca Raton.
• Trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Miami used a four-run rally to take a lead it would not relinquish. James Davison‘s go-ahead drag bunt single put the Hurricanes up 3-2, and a two-RBI single from Johnny Ruiz made it 5-2.
• Freshman Greg Veliz made his debut on the hill and pitched 4.0+ impressive innings with five strikeouts. He allowed just two runs. Miami’s bullpen combined to toss 5.0 scoreless innings to seal the victory, with sophomore Frankie Bartow earning his second save.

• Miami has made College World Series trips in back-to-back seasons (2015 and 2016) thanks in large part to its dominant play inside the confines of Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
• Since the start of the 2015 season, Miami is a whopping 72-12 in its last 84 home games, including its 2017 Opening Weekend series against Rutgers.
• Miami finished 36-5 at home in 2015 and 34-6 at home in 2016. The Hurricanes went 13-2 in ACC play at The Light in 2015 and 12-3 at home in ACC play in 2016.

• Miami made its second straight trip to the College World Series in 2016, marking the program’s 25th all-time trip to Omaha, Neb.
• Miami’s 25 College World Series trips are the second-most of any program in the country. The Hurricanes have won 48 games in the College World Series, the fourth-most of any program; Miami’s four national championships rank fifth-most.
• Since the NCAA began award national seeds prior to 1999, Miami has been among the top eight seven seasons: 1999 (#1), 2001 (#2), 2003 (#8), 2004 (#3), 2008 (#1), 2015 (#5) and 2016 (#3).
