W. Tennis Opens ACC Road Slate at No. 31 Clemson

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will play its first conference road match of the season Sunday morning.

Miami (4-3, 1-0 ACC) is set to face No. 31 Clemson at 11 a.m., at the AU Tennis Center in Anderson, S.C. Live stats for the match can be found HERE.

The Hurricanes are 29-4 all-time against the Tigers, including 11-1 on the road, with 17 consecutive wins dating back to 2001, the year before Paige Yaroshuk-Tews’ first as head coach. Most recently, Miami earned one if its eight 4-3 wins during the streak, topping the Tigers in Coral Gables on April 14, 2017.

Miami has three players in the national singles rankings, headlined by sophomore Estela Perez-Somarriba at No. 23. Junior Ana Madcur is No. 114, followed by senior Sinead Lohan at No. 116.

In doubles, Perez-Somarriba pairs with Madcur to form the No. 33 doubles duo on the Oracle/ITA list.

Clemson enters the match at 5-5 (1-2 ACC) on the season after dropping five of its past seven outings.

Marie Leduc is the Tigers’ lone ranked player, holding the No. 21 spot in the singles rankings. They do not have any ranked doubles pairs.

After facing Clemson, Miami will play a doubleheader Friday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., meeting Longwood at 8 a.m., and No. 23 Florida State at 6 p.m.
