W. Tennis Visits No. 41 Boston College and No. 30 Syracuse
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will play its final two road matches of the regular season this weekend in the Northeast.
No. 27 Miami (13-5, 6-4 ACC) first squares off with No. 41 Boston College Friday at 2 p.m. at the Flynn Recreation Complex in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Live stats for the contest will be accessible HERE.
The Hurricanes then take on No. 30 Syracuse at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, N.Y., Sunday at 11 a.m. The match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra HERE, while live stats can be found HERE.
Miami heads into the weekend with one ranked singles player, as junior Estela Perez-Somarriba sits at second in the country. The reigning ACC Player of the Year continues to hold the highest position by a Hurricane since 2007.
In doubles, freshman Daevenia Achong and senior Daniella Roldan are the highest-ranked Miami duo since 2016, currently checking in at No. 17. Achong also places No. 67 on the Oracle/ITA list alongside Perez-Somarriba.
Miami owns a 25-1 all-time record against the Eagles, including a 6-1 ledger on the road. In the most recent match between the two side, the Hurricanes recorded a 6-1 home triumph on April 6, 2018.
Boston College is 13-7 (3-7 ACC) this year, including 4-1 in its past five outings after dropping five straight. The Eagles have two ranked singles players in Yufei Long at No. 70 and Kylie Wilcox at No. 91, but do not feature any ranked doubles pairs.
The Hurricanes are 10-1 all-time versus the Orange, including 2-1 in road meetings. Most recently, Miami logged a 7-0 win over then-No. 25 Syracuse on April 8, 2018 in Coral Gables, Fla.
Syracuse is currently 11-8 (4-6 ACC) in 2019 after falling in three of its last four affairs. The Orange also have two players ranked in singles, with Gabriela Knutson coming in at No. 20 and Miranda Ramirez placing No. 82.
Knutson and Ramirez also form the Orange’s lone ranked doubles tandem, holding the last position on the list at No. 90 overall.
Following its matchups with the Eagles and Orange, Miami returns home for a pair of matches to cap the regular season, first hosting Louisville April 12 at 1 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
