Miller Third After Opening Round

Bayonet Point, FL (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) fired a two-under par 70 and is in third-place after the first round of the Beacon Woods Invitational in Bayonet Point, FL.
Miller, who trails Jill Crowe (South Florida) and Megan Bursey (UCF) by one stroke, is looking to win her second tournament of the season and fourth of her career. Miller opened the 2003-04 season with a win at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, SC.
As a team the Hurricanes shot a score 300 and are in fifth-place. Host South Florida recorded an opening round 293 and leads the tournament by three strokes over UCF heading into Saturday’s second round.
Also playing well for Miami on Friday was senior Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) who shot an opening round 73 and is in a tie for seventh. Hilland was UM’s top finisher at the Wildcat Fall Classic last weekend.
