Women's Golf Finishes 15th At Cougar Classic

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team shot a final round 313 to finish 15th at the 2006 Cougar Classic held at Yeamans Hall Golf Club in Hanahan, S.C.
Miami, which posted a three-day total of 927 (306-308-313), was led by junior Jessica Steward (Mystic, Conn.). Steward shot a final round 74 on Tuesday to finish tied for 29th (76-74-74–224).
Florida State (297-291-285–873), which trailed North Carolina by nine strokes heading into the final round, posted a final round 285 to defeat the Tar Heels (286-293-295–874) by one stroke.
North Carolina’s Lauren Hunt captured the individual title with a six-under-par score of 210 (69-71-70).
Miami returns to action September 30-October 1 at the Wildcat Fall Classic in Lexington, Ky.
